Relentless Feather

Privacy & Student Data

Last updated: July 2026

Relentless Feather is a Native-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches computer science and AI to students in grades 5 to 12. We built our learning platform for classrooms, and protecting the young people who use it is a responsibility we take seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the classroom, we never sell student data, we do not show ads or use student data for advertising, and teachers and schools stay in control of their students' accounts.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers teachers and staff who create accounts, and the students they enroll. Student accounts are provisioned by a teacher through the teacher and school relationship; students do not sign themselves up.

2. What we collect

From teachers and staff: name, email address, and (optionally) the name of your school, plus the classes you create and license or demo status.

From students: we keep this deliberately small.

Students log in with a class username, not a personal email address. We do not ask students for home addresses, phone numbers, or personal email accounts.

5. Student privacy, and schools as the authority

We designed the platform with student-privacy laws such as FERPA and COPPA in mind. Because students are enrolled by their teacher and school, we act as a service provider to the school. The school or teacher is responsible for providing any notice to and obtaining any consent from parents that their district requires. A parent or guardian with questions should contact their child's teacher or school, or reach us using the contact below.

6. AI features

Some lessons include AI tools for supervised classroom use. Student prompts are sent through a Relentless Feather server that adds safeguards before reaching the AI model; we instruct students not to enter personal information, and teacher supervision is expected. We do not send student names or account details to the AI model.

7. Service providers we rely on

We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the platform. They process data only to provide their service to us:

9. Keeping and deleting data

We keep information for as long as an account is active. A teacher can remove a student at any time, which deletes that student's login and their learning records. A school, teacher, or parent may ask us to delete or provide a copy of a student's information using the contact below, and we will respond promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page.
